Terms of Service
What invitedFor provides, what you agree to when you use it, and what happens when things go wrong or an account closes.
1. Who you are agreeing with
invitedFor is operated by [registered legal name], at [registered address]. In these Terms, “we” and “us” mean that entity; “you” means the person or organisation holding an invitedFor account.
By creating an account or using the service you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. What the service is
invitedFor lets you create an event, choose a design, write the invitation on it, and publish a link your guests open on their phones. Each guest sees only the functions they were invited to, and can reply from the same page. Guests do not need accounts.
We do not send your invitations for you. The product produces links; you decide who receives them and send them yourself, through whatever messaging you already use. We email only you — confirmation codes and password resets.
The service is currently provided at no charge. If we introduce paid plans we will say so before they apply to you, and nothing you have already created will be held hostage to one.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
- Give accurate details, and keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account. Resetting your password signs out every device using it, including theirs.
- One person or organisation per account; do not share sign-ins.
4. Your guest list is your responsibility
This is the most important thing in these Terms. When you add guests, you are giving us other people’s personal data, and you are the one with a relationship to those people. You confirm that:
- you have a lawful basis to hold and share their details for the purpose of inviting them;
- you will use what you collect through invitedFor — replies, dietary preferences, answers to your questions — only for running your event, and not for marketing or anything else they would not expect;
- you will deal with them directly if they ask what you hold about them, ask to be corrected, or ask to be removed. We will help, and we will pass on anything a guest sends us, but they are your guests.
For your guests’ data we act on your instructions. For your own account data, we are the Data Fiduciary. The Privacy Policy sets out both.
5. What you may not do
- Upload or publish anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, obscene, or infringing someone else’s rights.
- Use invitedFor to send unsolicited bulk messaging, or to reach people who have asked you to stop.
- Impersonate anyone, or publish an event implying it is run by someone it is not.
- Attempt to reach events, guest lists or invitations that are not yours, or probe, scrape or overload the service.
- Resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
6. Your content
What you put into invitedFor stays yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service — to store your content, and to display it to the guests you have invited. We claim no other rights to it, we do not use it to train anything, and the permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.
The designs, ornaments, typography and software of invitedFor itself remain ours.
7. Moderation and suspension
A published invitation is a page on our domain, and what is on it affects everyone else using the service. We may take down an event or suspend an account that breaches section 5. Except where it is unlawful or unsafe to do so, we will tell you why and you may reply. An event taken down stops being reachable by its guests.
8. Closing your account
You can close your account yourself, at any time, from your account settings. Closing it deletes your profile and every event you own, including events that are already open to guests. Those guests’ links stop working immediately and will not explain why. Replies you have already collected go with the events. None of it can be recovered.
We do this immediately and in full because erasure should mean erasure. If you want your guests to keep their invitations, export or finish what you need before you close.
9. Availability
We work to keep invitedFor available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those the law does not let us exclude.
10. Liability
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profits or goodwill, or for an event that did not go as planned because a link was not delivered, a reply was not seen, or the service was unavailable. invitedFor is a tool for organising an occasion; it is not a guarantee that the occasion will go well.
Where liability cannot be excluded, ours is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹5,000.
11. You indemnify us
If someone brings a claim against us because of what you published, or because of how you obtained or used your guests’ details, you will cover the reasonable cost of dealing with it.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The current version is always at this address with its effective date. Where a change materially affects you, we will email account holders rather than relying on you to notice. Continuing to use invitedFor after a change means you accept it; if you do not, close your account.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of [the courts having jurisdiction].
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms go to [contact email address].
